I believe research is only really successful when the results are brought back to the clinical field where the findings are able to help children and improve their lives. This is why I am so passionate about research and why I dedicate to it so much of my time.
I have been involved as an investigator in some ground breaking research like a Leducq foundation grant looking at developing tools to better understand single ventricle physiology and the NLHBI-funded Bench to Bassinet project which is producing very significant advancements in the understanding of the genetic causes of congenital cardiac defects.
